This script doesn't remove the Highlight Bar by default.
THIS SCRIPT IS PRIMARILY DESIGNED TO REMOVE SPECIFIC ITEMS FROM THE HIGHLIGHT BAR

This script allows you to easily hide any type of content from the Highlights sidebar.
By default, it hides Applications, Gifts, Groups, and Public Pages. But it is capable of hiding:
Applications, Events, Gifts, Groups, Links, Notes, Pages, Polls, Photos, Relations, Videos.

Also, this script now has the ability to hide specific people, in case they have been getting annoying. Now, it even has the ability to hide friends lists, in case you accept people just for a Facebook App.

Now it also allows you to toggle to the visibility of the entire Highlight Bar by clicking on 'Highlights'

Instructions

You must have Greasemonkey to use this script. (Sorry stylish/opera users).

There is now a button at the top of the highlight bar which reads 'edit settings'. Click it, and the settings will display. If you have any questions, just ask.

  • Fairly large bug fix here, although many people will not have ever seen it.
    • This fixes this script to work when FB is set to display in languages other than English
    • This script, however, still always displays the settings in English

    • This will, however, take a moment or two to process, because it loads multiple pages in the background to query the lists and get the names associated with them.
